Joe DiGiglio, who used to do compliance work for Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management team, has joined the international compliance consultancy of Bovill as a managing consultant in New York - its first employee to be based there.

Before joining Bovill DiGiglio was a senior compliance officer for Cadre and a senior principal consultant for ACA Compliance Group. His compliance career has involved a veritable smorgasbord of jobs, including two years at the National Regulatory Service and internal compliance work for a boutique broker-dealer, a hedge fund and Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management team.

Bovill, which employs more than 80 people throughout the globe, has a US office in Chicago which opened in 2017. Some of its existing customers in New York are broker-dealers and other wealth managers.

Ben Blackett-Ord, the founder of the Bovill Group, said to Compliance Matters: "This is the genesis of our New York office, although at the moment Joe is working away at home like everyone else. If we were starting now, we wouldn't even think of hiring anyone with this virus thing going on! We didn't start now, though - we've been talking to Joe for about four years. By Christmas we'd got to the stage where the timing was right for him and the timing was right for us."
