Compliancy Services, the British financial compliance consultancy, has taken on Paul Morrison as its head of regulatory technology. He previously established and led the Financial Conduct Authority's new RegTech team.

RegTech involves the use of innovative technology to help firms meet their regulatory obligations efficiently and effectively. Morrison - formerly "senior partner, regtech" at the FCA - is responsible for product development, especially in the regtech area. Compliancy Services claims to have been "developing RegTech services for over 12 years," although not using that term. More than 600 clients use its services. It already had some products in development and/or at the pilot stage before Morrison came.

Compliancy Services' target audience is the community of firms that the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority regulate. Their services include web-based apps to help firms train staff, manage their regulatory obligations and obtain authorisation from the regulators for various activities.
