The Securities and Exchange Commission’s mandate to administer and enforce US federal securities laws extends beyond the boundaries of the United States. A conference (and associated workshops) will take place on the subject in London on 22-23 June. Mark Berman (pictured), the founder of CompliGlobe, will be officiating.

The conference, entitled "SEC Regulation Outside the United States," is the only event of its kind in the world. It will feature a battery of current and former top SEC officials and will look at the nuances of current and pending US regulation and legislation.

Sara Cortes, Pete Driscoll, Scott Friestad, Barbara Jacobs and Carol McGee of the SEC will speak, as will Regina Theole of the National Futures Association.

CompliGlobe helps hedge funds, investment managers, issuers, regulators and multi-national banks and brokers in Europe and Asia with SEC practice outside the United States and cross-border regulatory, compliance and AML matters. Mark Berman started off as a lawyer at the SEC himself.

Details are available at http://www.secregulation.co.uk and a special offer (of two places for the price of one to the conference on the second day, 23rd June) is being extended to readers of Compliance Matters if they quote COMP2 when booking at http://www.secregulation.co.uk/book/.
