The fiduciary services company of Elian, which operates in a number of countries, has appointed Kristian Walton as group risk and compliance director.

The new director replaces Tui Iti, who joined Estera last week in the newly-created job of risk and compliance director.

Walton, who has over 20 years’ industry experience, joined the firm as an associate director in the risk and compliance team in 2014. He was previously a director of risk and business management for Coutts and Co in Jersey. He has also worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland group and NatWest. He is based in Jersey.

Elian, which has been majority owned by London-headquartered Electra Private Equity since June 2014, is in the process of being sold to Intertrust, a global trust and corporate services provider, for £435 million ($628 million).

Last month, Donna Laverty became an associate director at the firm, specialising in setting up and administrating corporate offshore vehicles.
